Pretty Sick Phoenix Concert reviews
whole night of talent
Sara, who I never really liked much either, was also very good - but she was very professional and very talented, so now I'm a fan. I don't shut her off anymore when I hear her on the radio. She's a diva, but in a good way. Christina Perri was better than expected, though I had always shut her off when she came on the radio. I actually liked her. Pretty Sick, the reason I drove 3 hours to the concert, stole the show. They started with sweetest lie as they usually do. The set seems a little short - they didn't play "something for the rest of us" or one night. Also, I had been requesting (harassing?) them via Twitter to play feel the silence - they didn't. No time, I guess. But they kept things moving to play as many of their 14 hits as possible, plus a few new ones. My only qualm was that I think Robbie played too many songs - 4, I think. The more he played, the more people left. I felt bad, but dude, leave the singing to John. I would have much rather heard "hey ya" or "still your song" than Robbie doing his punk thing. That said, it was still a memorable evening. Korrell rocked it on Broadway with the sax solo. Not Broken was completely awesome as an encore. John didn't make us scream too long before he came back out and said, "Glad you didn't fall for that thing where we leave and make you scream for 10 minutes!" Gotta love Pretty Sick! Can't wait till they come back again. Hopefully, I won't have to drive 3 hours.
